Scent Hive’s First Giveaway! Decants of Chergui

361231I know it may seem unlikely that my first giveaway would be for a traditional, non-organic perfume, but there is a story here. This past holiday season, Victoria over at Bois de Jasmin held a charity raffle. Low and behold I won, and chose Chergui. Bois de Jasmin has been a wonderful source of information and inspiration to me over the years, so I wanted to take this opportunity to give Victoria some props and share her generosity.

I will refrain from reviewing Chergui and direct you to Bois de Jasmin for a lovely review instead. Today, my post is going to be short and sweet. To enter the drawing, simply leave a comment telling me why you love Chergui, why you are anxious to try it, or just say hello! I will pick two lucky winners at random to receive a 1/4oz decant of this beloved perfume. The two winners will be announced on March 24th after I return from my trip to San Francisco.

Chergui notes: honey, musk, incense, tobacco leaf, hay sugar, amber, iris, rose and sandalwood.

Chergui is available at Luckyscent and decants are available at The Perfumed Court.

  1. I haven’t tried any of the serge lutens yet, but I hear that Chergui is the first one I should try.

  2. I am anxious to try Chergui because “…honey, musk, incense, tobacco leaf, hay sugar, amber, iris, rose and sandalwood.”!!! OMG! The honey and incense alone sold me. *crossing my fingers*!!!

  3. Hey! Was that you who won the raffle? Congratulations! Somehow, it’s even lovelier that it’s someone I “know”.

Please include me in the draw as well. I’ve always been shy about purchasing a full bottle of this, because my skin does horrible things to sweet things, and need to keep them at low doses.

  4. Great give-away!
I’m building my honey perfume wardrobe, this would be a lovely one to have.

    Happy first day of Spring

  5. Would love to be entered in the drawing! It’s not my favorite tobacco perfume, but it’s certainly a good one. A decant would be perfect.

  6. Hi, Trish,

I’m so glad to hear it was you who won Victoria’s drawing. Wasn’t that a wonderful thing?

As for Chergui, well, what can I say; it was love at first encounter for me, and has never let me down. I’m just now realizing I have a sort of Janus thing going with Chergui and Bois Blond; 6 months out of the year for one, 6 months for the other. I have an abiding happiness whenever I wear either–as long as I use them during the right half of the year.

Anyway, don’t toss my name into the hat. As much as I love it, I’d rather somebody else experience their first time with it… 🙂

    1. Hey SS,
I’m sure the others appreciate you increasing the odds!

And yes, Victoria was such a sweetheart to raise so much money doing the raffle.

  7. Wow! I’m new to the whole perfume craze, but that sounds absolutely fabulous! It sounds like it would be perfect for a fancy horse show 🙂

  8. I love this magnificant scent because it is passionate, sensual and lovely beyond words. It reminds me of my beloved Egypt and my most beautiful Persian friend Soheila.
