As I sit here, I am trying to decide if the day I published my first post one year ago seems like yesterday or ten years ago. It’s a paradoxical feeling as I can hardly remember my pre-blogging life, but yet I still feel like a newbie on the scene. A very grateful newbie! I wish I could hug everyone who has supported Scent Hive in its first year…seriously. That includes family and friends, but also anyone who has taken the time to read a post, even if it was only once. I know tag lines can seem hokey, but mine truly is in earnest. I hope you all collect a little something after you read Scent Hive and feel inspired to explore a new fragrance, or something to help you feel pampered, or possibly “green your hive“.

Because I am so appreciative of you all, I want to share a little bit of my collection with you. I would love to send everyone a little something, but of course that’s impossible, so I’ll do one of my favorite things instead. Have a Scent Hive Giveaway!!

You know the drill. Leave a comment and you’ll be entered into the drawing for a selection of my favorite things. I want the winner to be surprised, but I will give you a sneak peek of a few (generously sized) samples that will be in the goody bag:

I am bookmarking the “green your hive” entry for all of the info and cautions re: chemicals. Do you know this site: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ I find it useful sometimes. Also, for anyone wanting to look up individual chemicals, there is: http://environmentalchemistry.com/yogi/chemicals/ This website contains a HUGE amount of information on chemicals in the environment, etc. Might be useful for looking up individual ingredients.     The birth of Scent Hive coincided with my growing interest in natural perfume and skincare, so I love your blog. There is no greater lemming generator for me, and you should take that as the greatest of compliments!

    Since I first read about In Fiore Maia body oil, I have tried 4 separate times on 2 trips to SF to visit the store in person in hopes of smelling it. The first time there was an “out to lunch back soon” sign on the door, and I killed some time in the area, but they never opened. The other 3 times there was just a darkened storefront. This is on different days at different times. It’s like it was not meant to be. Now that it’s reissued I’ll have to request a sample with my next Beautyhabit order.

    And I am totally in love with Velvet & Sweet Pea’s body frostings. I’ve ordered them several times from Open Sky, and there was a problem with one order where both Open Sky and Laurie (she’s got to be one of the nicest people ever) were great about it. They are all wonderful, but the Tuberose Gardenia is my favorite.

      I too went to SF last spring on a Saturday and visited In Fiore, only to find it closed. The next time was this past fall, and luckily it was open! I called ahead of time to make sure. I was fortunate enough to meet Julie Elliott, the owner, and she is wonderful! I hope you get to try Maia/Jasmin Superieur sometime soon, and who knows? Maybe you’ll win the drawing!

      I am so glad you are enjoying your V&SP Body Frostings! Thanks for hanging in there with OpenSky. They are still getting things together, being so new, but they are committed to excellent customer service and I’m glad they made everything right for you! And isn’t Laurie (owner of V&SP) terrific? She is so sweet and talented!!
