My Top 7 Green Beauty Picks for 2015 and Happy New Year!

best of 2015*

There were so many lovely green beauties to choose from this year, but these seven products rose to the top of my 2015 favorites list. All of them are 100% natural and without parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, or petrochemicals. So let’s get started!

1). Grown Alchemist Intensive Body Cream with Rose Damascena, Açaí and Promegranate: This is my absolute favorite body lotion. It is thick and creamy, absorbs quickly and hydrates the skin amazingly well. The scent is earthy and mildly floral with sandalwood and rose hip being the dominant notes to my nose. Pomegranate and Capuacu (a tree native to the Amazon) butter are rich in antioxidants and soften the skin. It’s expensive, but I get it at Beautyhabit when they have a discount running. ($69 at Beautyhabit.com)

2). *Gressa Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation: This serum to powder formula is fantastic! I use it over my moisturizer for smooth application of this powerhouse skin care/foundation duo. It truly is a serum with ingredients like neem, seabuckthorn seed extract, and coenzyme Q10 to name just a few. It’s delivered via a dropper which I dot directly on my face. My finger tips seem to work the best for warming up the serum, and gives a satiny finish. ($58 at Gressaskin.com)

3). One Love Organics Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum: This blog was born out of my quest to find the perfect tropical perfume. So believe me when I say I have tried many, many, gardenia fragrances. One Love Organics has impressed me a great deal with this body serum, as it smells as lush and intoxicating as the tropical white floral it is named for. I don’t know how they did it, but they did! And to boot, it’s rich in skin nourishing ingredients like green tea seed oil, kelp extract, seabuckthorn oil and rooibos tea extract. The result is gardenia heaven that gives your skin a luminous glow. ($39 at OneLoveOrganics.com)

4). Kari Gran Lip Whip: This is a very new discovery for me, and I have already decided that I will never be without these! I have Jolene, a sheer fuchsia, and Radiant, a sheer rose-pink. Both are lovely. Kari Gran Lip Whips are made with beeswax, camellia oil, and calendula oil and feel beautifully nourishing on the lips. Next up for me is the Tinted Lip Whip scented with cinnamon! ($20 at IntegrityBotanicals.com)

5). Au Naturel Botanicals Sandalwood & Sage Cleanser: I honestly could not love this facial cleanser more as it combines elements of all of my favorite skin care products. It has the feel of a satiny clay mask, the gentleness of an oil cleanser, it foams just a bit, and smells like sandalwood. The price is right too. I can’t thank my dear friend and fellow midwife (you know who you are) for recommending this Porland, Or. based line to me. I am smitten! ($12 at aunaturelbotanicals.com)

6). *Kahina Giving Beauty Fez Perfume Oil: This little luxurious bottle is filled with the most gloriously spicy fragrance. It features orange blossom, clove and vetiver and I love it. You can read my full review here.  ($78 at IntegrityBotanicals.com)

7). Laurel Whole Plant Organics Face Elixir: I purchased the Laurel Whole Plant Organics Travel Set for normal/dry/mature skin. Every single product has made my skin very happy, especially the cleanser, serum and elixir. But, out of all of them, the elixir is what I keep reaching for daily.  It’s loaded with organic hydrosols, rose geranium and frankincense being the standouts for me. I use this after cleansing and before applying the serum to aid in its absorption. I also spritz the elixir whenever I feel the need for some extra moisture, or relaxation. The size shown above is the 30ml travel size. The full 100ml size (which I need to get soon) is $44 at LaurelSkin.com

I hope you all have enjoyed my Best of 2015 Roundup. What have your favorite products been this past year?

Disclosure: *Those products were sent to me by the companies for consideration. All opinions expressed are completely my own.
