Flora by Alchemologie Natural Perfume

These feel like tumultuous and uncertain times, so even though the weather is getting warmer for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, it still feels good to wear a perfume that wraps us up like a comforting blanket. One perfume that provides much needed succor while feeling heartsick, is Flora, a warm and gently spicy fragrance that envelopes you in its pillowy petals.

Night Flight to Venus by Living Libations

After reading The Hermes Hippie’s truly epic review of Living Libations’ tantalizing offerings, there was no way I was going to resist making a haul of my own. I am still in the process of testing several of their products, but it has only taken me a few weeks to fall deeply in love with their utterly swoon-worthy perfume, Night Flight to Venus.

Love-In-A-Mist by Providence Perfume Co

I get a little bit giddy when a package from Providence Perfume Co arrives at my door since it means Charna Ethier has created something new. She’s added gorgeous lotions, hand creams, and perfumed teas to her line, so I’m always wondering with delight, “What could it be?” The surprise this time was her new perfume packaging which is just stunning. She sent along a 5ml roller ball bottle which is both cute and elegant (pictured below) and I am particularly fond of the silver detailing.

Ritual by Age of Earth Collective

It is me, or is palo santo the new oud? I feel like I am seeing it everywhere, and I must say, I like it. And I especially like it in Age of Earth’s all natural perfume offering, Ritual. I discovered this local company at a pop-up hosted by Shop People here in Portland, and was able to test the full line of Age of Earth’s perfumes and incense. Roxanne, the creator of these beautifully scented products, was a pleasure to chat with, and informed me that while her perfumes are very high in natural essences, Ritual is the only one that is 100% all natural. I delved into all of her perfumes with an open mind, but ultimately it was Ritual that pulled me into its tranquil realm.

Essaouira. Kahina’s newest perfume.

I have been on a rose geranium binge as of late, and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon. It embodies so many scent profiles, that it seems to suit a myriad of moods. It has a rosy floral note as the plant’s name suggests, and it also sparkles like lemon and comforts with an herbaceous backdrop. This leads me to Kahina’s sophomore perfume release, Essaouira, which has a glorious rose geranium as its focal point. If you are familiar with Kahina, you might know that this philanthropic company is steeped in Moroccan culture so this perfume is aptly named Essaouira, a temperate village on the Moroccan Atlantic coast. Although I have never been to this free-spirited and whitewashed destination, Kahina’s latest all natural fragrance inspires a longing to make that trip.
